Room2 Southampton 8.5 miles

Room2 has some great family room options. The family room lofts have 1 large double and futon bed – perfect for toddlers. The Study, Lounge and Master family rooms have a double bed and two singles. 

Room 2 enabled us to cook our own meals & make packed lunches which saved us a fortune & we had more money to enjoy the park. Large tv & free WiFi. All the kitchen facilities (hob, microwave, kettle.) Younger kids are given Peppa Pig postcards colour and bowls of cookie pieces to nibble on whilst checking in.

A Flying With A Baby reader says,” We stayed at room2 – it was excellent. Big rooms, sofas, kitchenette and took 10-15 mins to drive to the park. Breakfast was excellent too and it was a 10 min walk into the shopping centre areas. It was so good we’re probably going to book again soon”

The Pig Hotel in Brockenhurst is a place that is all about the walled garden and local products and everything is driven by the gardener/forager and chef – they grow and find the food – the chef then makes the menu. You can wander around the garden and see the pigs and chickens.

Family accommodation wise, The Pig House is a two bedroomed cosy retreat with all the modern touches you need: Master bedroom en-suite and monsoon shower with freestanding bath and the children’s room has a bunk bed and monsoon shower.

Solent Hotel & Spa 4* –  18 miles away

The Solent Hotel & Spa is the hotel we stayed at overnight as our other choice had booked up whilst we were deliberating! Kids receive their own VI (little) P dressing gown, snacks, activity pack and sweets.

We were impressed by the fresh milk in the fridge for our tea and coffee, plus the recycling bin with separate sections for different types of waste. Our room had bunk beds and a large double bed.

We didn’t use the on site indoor swimming pool, but could see it it looked like an inviting area. After our long day at Peppa Pig World we ate dinner at the hotel. The kids enjoyed a pizza, some sausages and mash and other dishes and us adults enjoyed a mixture of gastro pub style food.

One of our party said they were the best halloumi chips he had ever had. A highlight for the kids was the ice-cream parlour area – where a huge display of various toppings tempted the children.

Self catering Accommodation Near Paultons Park

There are plenty of self catering places to stay near Paultons Park, from camping in tents or caravans or even a luxury lodge or cottage.

Sandy Balls Resort – 12 miles away

Sandy Balls is a self catering luxury caravan and lodge resort nestled in the New Forest. Camping and touring is no longer allowed but their are plenty of lodges and caravans with multiple bedrooms to choose from. Some lodges have hot tubs too!

Onsite there are plenty of activities for kids and adults. Kids get one free activity a day, and then rest have a small charge. Activities include: archery, cycling, PLAY sessions, Alpaca walks, forest caching, sorbing, paint balling. More details on the kids activities are here. Under 5’s are welcome to join in but parents must stay with them.

Campsites Near Paultons Park

The below campsites near Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World, also cover caravan parks, whereas the separate caravan section further down, is for caravans or mobile homes only. Campsites can be a great alternative to a hotel, and some are very well kitted out for families. (For a detailed post on the best UK campsites for families see here.)

If you are looking to go camping near Peppa Pig World or Paultons Park, there are plenty of options.  With the New Forest within easy reach, a longer break to explore the area means you can see a lot more and take the time to relax.

Paultons Campsite – a walk away.

As the name suggests, Paultons Campsite is very close to Peppa Pig World and Paultons Park – just a short walk from the campsite. They offer various glamping options, hard standings for caravans, motorhomes, camper vans & RVs. Grass pitches for tents, trailer tents & folding campers, all with 16Amp electric hook-ups.

They have toilets & shower facilities with a hair drier & electric socket in the Ladies, a covered washing up area with hot & cold water, a freezer for ice packs, free use of the campsite BBQs,  ride on toys, balance bikes, bats & balls, football goals and skipping ropes etc. for the children.  Every pitch includes a six seater picnic bench.

Green Hill Farm  – 5.8 miles away

Green Hill Farm is open all year and welcomes touring caravans, motorhomes and tents (tents from Easter to October only). They have a children’s play area with a zip wire.There is also a separate play area dedicated to the under 7’s. You can hire both adult and children’s bikes as well if you can’t fit them on the car.

Green Hill Farm has a new toilet and shower block with a family bathroom for those customers with younger children. It has a toddler bath, baby changing facilities and a mini toilet and basin just for the kids. It also contains a full size shower, so the whole family can get ready at the same time if you wish.

Pool, air hockey and table football are all available in the games room (open March to October). There is also have an outdoor table tennis table which is free to use. Either bring you own bats and balls, or buy them in the shop.

Horseshoe lake is available for children to go fishing if accompanied by an adult. Child fishing permits are available from reception, and children’s rod sets are available in the shop. Read TripAdvisor review here.

Ashurst, New Forest – 6 miles away 

Ashurst New Forest is open seasonally (Check the website for the exact dates) It has a laundrette on-site, toilets and showers and battery charging facilities. The campsite is a short walk from an expanse of heathland with cycling and walking trails with Ashurst village a 5 minute walk away. 

Long Meadow Brockenhurst  7.8 miles away

Long Meadow Campsite is located just off of the A337. Long Meadow Campsite is extremely easy to access making it an ideal site for tents, campervans and large motor-homes. They offer large, spacious grass and hard standing pitches with electric hook up available on both. Visitors can walk or cycles miles of safe off-road trails which are accessed through a gate at the back of the site. Hollands Wood Campsite  New Forest – Brockenhurst – 10 miles away

Hollands Wood is open seasonally from April to end of September. (Check the website for exact dates) It has toilets and showers and 600 grass only pitches. No electricity is available but batteries can be charged.

Red Shoot – New Forest – 13 miles away

Red Shoot is incredibly family friendly with facilities include an on-site shop and bakery, children’s play area, laundry room, under floor heated showers/toilets and family bathrooms. They welcome tents, caravans, motorhomes and camper vans and can offer a choice of both electric and non-electric grass pitches. Bournemouth and its surrounding sandy beaches being only 12 miles away. 

Hills Cottage Farm – 22 miles away

Hills Cottage Farm offers hardstanding pitches with dividing hedges which are fully serviced. There is an onsite play area to help keep young children entertained. The amenity building includes modern toilet facilities, free showers which are fully adapted for disabled holidaymakers. A large laundry room and information room are also present. The farm opens around the 1st March and is open til the end of November – but check for exact dates.

Caravan Parks Near Paultons Park

The above camping section, also covers lots of caravan options too – however this section is for accommodation close to Paultons Park which is caravan parks, mobile homes and lodges only.

Oakedene Holiday Park – 20 miles away

Oakdene Holiday Park has caravan and lodge options available. Some have up to 4 bedrooms and have hot tubs. Facilities include an indoor heated pool with 34m flume, outdoor pool with water jets ,sauna, steam room and spa bath, kids club, outdoor play area and more. Please note: Outdoor pool – May 25-Sep 1

Hoburne Park – 20 miles away

Hoburne Caravan Park is close to Avon beach and the market town of Christchurch in Dorset. Caravans are 2 and 3 bedrooms – some with a hot tub. Other activities include “Sammy & Tommy children’s activities’, indoor soft play area and outdoor adventure playground, free Wi-Fi, indoor swimming pool and heated outdoor swimming and paddling pools (mid-May to mid-September), sauna, steam room and fitness room, nature trail, football field and crazy golf. Some activities have an extra charge.

Cottages Near Paultons Park

For cottages close to Paultons Park, HomeAway has a good selection – with many in the New Forest and some coastal cottages too.
