But before you book, you may wonder what is the best time to visit Tenerife with kids? Good news, it’s one of the few European destinations that has good weather all year round.

During the summer months from May to September, temperatures can get really hot. However, Tenerife can get quite windy at times which is refreshing. (Some hotels don’t allow pool inflatables because of this.)

Temperatures can remain quite high also in autumn, ranging from 20-26° making Tenerife and The Canaries a popular destination for the October half-term holiday.

October – March can be the idea time to visit with a young family, when temperatures are milder but you will need a jumper for the breezier evenings.

Tenerife Family Hotels – Tips and Recommendations

Generally, the best weather is in the south of Tenerife which is sunnier and drier than the north. The sand is often black due to the volcanic area, however some beaches have been man-made with a more familiar golden sand.

The best beaches on Tenerife for families is Las Vistas if this is important to you. However, more striking scenery and greener landscapes are to be found in the north. Playa des Americas is very lively and busy whereas the area around Los Gigantes is quieter.

The hotel is based in a nature reserve and is situated right on the coast, with the south airport being the closest.  It is in a fairly remote location – for those that wish to get away from it all but the airport transfer is very short.

Nearby are a couple of nice little villages (San Blas and Los Abrigos) within walking distance of the hotel.  Reaching San Blas involves walking up some fairly steep steps, which are not buggy friendly

The hotel has a variety of room styles, including suites with a balcony or terrace which come with two bathrooms and a separate lounge area, deluxe twin rooms with balcony or terrace, and rooms with sea views. All rooms have mini fridges and tea and coffee making facilities.
