Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife Review

The Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife is a five-star, family-friendly hotel in Tenerife, Spain. And having visited the resort with my 6 and 9 in tow, I thought I’d give you the rundown of everything you’d need to know about the resort, its facilities, and all of its onsite entertainment. 

As a family, we absolutely love visiting Tenerife as not only is it just over a four-hour flight from the UK, but it also has year-round warm weather and a plethora of activities to entertain the entire family.

From beautiful beaches and animal-watching experiences to the world-famous Siam Park and the island’s zoo, Jungle Park.

Tenerife truly is a haven for families with little ones. An easy flight from the U.K and good chances of warmer weather.

Although you can fill your days in Tenerife with an endless list of activities, Tenerife’s all-inclusive resorts, like the Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife also offer the luxury of having everything you could possibly need all in one place—you don’t even need to leave the resort grounds to be thoroughly entertained from morning until nightfall! 

Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife First Impressions and Check-In Experience

With over 500 rooms spread out across the hotel’s grounds, seven pools, five restaurants, and even a miniature waterpark that is aimed for children, the hotel is an impressive beachside accommodation that staff maintain to an extremely high level. 

With the hotel’s app, you can not only check in online so no need to queue, but you can also book shows, restaurant reservations, and any extra activities that take your fancy during your stay. (Don’t worry, you can still check in the other way too)

Once your room is ready, staff will give each member of the family (kids included) a wristband. And this wristband will act as your all-inclusive pass and your room key all in one!

Family-Friendly Atmosphere and Service

With pools, playgrounds, and kid-friendly entertainment on offer, as well as baby rooms in each accommodation block that provide microwaves, bottle heaters, buggy storage, and sinks, we thought the Bahia is an excellent choice for families who really appreciate the little additional touches. 

Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife Room Types and Accommodation

One of the affordable rooms at the hotel is suitable for a single parent and a child. And that is a superior room which features a large double bed and a balcony. 

For slightly larger families who prefer more spacious rooms, then the next accommodation type is a junior suite. Junior suites are over twice the size of superiors.

In addition to a large double bed and balcony, and a sofa bed, which is perfect for the little ones of the family. 

If you’re like us and enjoy having a separate seating area from the bedroom, then the Bahia’s family suites will be right up your alley. Family rooms again have a large double bed and a sofa bed.

Interconnecting doors separate the sofa bed and the main bedroom, allowing you to have some privacy while the kids are asleep. 

All in all, if you are travelling with kids, then I highly suggest opting for a family suite with a sea view as these have a larger space.

From our experience, they are the most peaceful as they’re the only ones that don’t face directly into the hotel complex if you want an early night.

All rooms at the Bahia come with air conditioning, a minibar and a flat-screen TV.

Top tip: If you have one, be sure to pack a Chrome Cast or an Amazon Fire Stick. That way, you can watch movies once the kids are in bed! 

Dining Quality and Variety

With seven restaurants to choose from, you really will be spoilt for choice each and every meal time. One of the best restaurants on-site for families with kids, however, is, of course, the buffet.

We found that there was a good variety of food to suit all palette preferences. The girls loved doughnuts for breakfast!

In addition to the buffet, the Bahia also has a la carte restaurants including ones that specialise in Japanese and Italian cuisine. These restaurants are slightly fancier and you will need to make a reservation. But you can do so directly with the hotel or via the Bahia app. 

Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife Beaches, Pools, and Outdoor Entertainment

Now, onto the fun part—the Bahia’s pools, nearby beaches, and outdoor entertainment! 

There are seven swimming pools. One of these swimming pools is adult-only. However, the remaining six, along with the onsite water park, are all child-friendly! 

Backing the resort’s main pool—and my girls’ favourite—is a castle that looks like it belongs at Disney World. And if you have the budget, then you can even book a night or two in the castle to make your kid’s princess dreams come true! 

There is additional outdoor entertainment, including 30-minute poolside shows every Wednesday night and inflatables that come out once a week at the top pools.

One downside of the hotel is the fact the pool tiles get extremely slippery. So I highly suggest packing non-slip pool shoes to prevent any accidents!

Activities for Kids and Young Adults

To top it all off, the Bahia also boasts a gym, a spa, and nightly entertainment, which, in my opinion, are way above average! During your seven-night stay, you’ll get access to two themed shows.

You will need to book reservations for the shows at the hotel or via the Bahia app. 

For kids, the Bahia also puts on a kids club and even a teens club. Plus, they have an arcade and a playground, which are always a hit no matter where you go.
