5 Top Beach Destinations For Families
Although I do love skiing, I am equally at home on a beach – preferably with my nose in a good book whilst the girls make sandcastles and bury daddy in the sand! As ex cabin crew, I definitely got to see some stunning beaches around the world, and now with my family in tow we like to discover more!
Here are some of my favourite beach destinations for families, including one or two that are still on my bucket list! Just don’t forget your bucket & spades or a beach wagon for any of your kids gear! (For some other winter sun inspiration see here.)

Majorca
Majorca with kids is popular for a reason; family friendly villas and hotels, sunny climes, wonderful food, the little wooden train to Soller and of course it’s known for beach holidays. Cala D’Or and Pollensa beaches are two of my favourites. Older kids will also love the water parks, seeing stalactites and stalagmites in the atmospheric Caves Of Drach. For some more information on the best beaches in Majorca see here. and for some great all inclusive family hotels in Majorca which even have pirate pools, slides, kids’ club and fab family friendly room amenities see here.

Thailand
Thailand is renowned for being a great family friendly place to visit, with world famous beaches with amazing snorkelling and scuba diving opportunities. If you are flying with a baby or young children, don’t let the long flight time put you off as it’s completely worth it!
One of my favourites is not where Leonardo Di Caprio graced but Monkey Beach on Koh Phi Phi Don. Monkey Beach is best reached by kayak or by boat as it is sheltered by high mountainous walls and lush green jungle – but it has the most beautiful white sand, as soft as talcum powder.
We visited for a couple hours and the girls happily played in the gentle, cyan sea, whilst wild monkeys frolicked in the branches. It is a popular spot to visit and has no facilities. (Feeding the monkeys is forbidden and it is wise to leave any food or drink hidden well in your boat.). However, time your visit right as there can be a mere handful of people on the beach. It’s definitely worth a trip if you are in the Phuket, Krabi area!

Isles of Scilly, Cornwall UK
The Isles of Scilly are located just off the coast of Cornwall and reachable by ferry. With several islands to choose from with a plethora of unspoilt white sandy beaches and clear waters, on a warm summers day you could easily believe you are somewhere in the Mediterranean. Katy from Otis and Us put this place on the map for me – it’s a real hidden gem! Also try these other gorgeous beaches in the UK, this time, Northumberland!

Cape Town, South Africa
It’s no secret Cape Town is one of my favourite places. My eldest had visited twice by the time she was 9 months old. With the most magnificent scenery – check out Table Mountain and gaze at the majestic (but cold!) ocean.
Or head to Simon’s Town and Boulders Beach where the native loveable wild penguins entertain you. Or do what the locals do and head to one of the beaches along the coastal path, Clifton, Bakoven, Glen beach and of course the famous Camps Bay. I highly recommend the pizza over at Col’cacchios. They even do half and half toppings in a lovely family friendly environment!

Australia
With my husband being Australian, it would be rude not to mention this as a family beach destination! I’ve visited Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane which are all incredible family friendly destinations – but my bucket list still includes the Whitsundays in Queensland. Snorkelling with wild turtles, and paddle boarding the Barrier Reef, crocodile spotting, bushwalking in national parks just sounds perfect!

Greece
Ok that makes six, but I just had to sneak Greece in. The Greek Islands are perfect for a family beach holiday. The Greeks are so welcoming and love children, and the food is beyond incredible. With so much history, myth and legend steeped in these ancient islands; postcard worthy crisp white buildings with blue doors, pink bougainvillea framing the turquoise sea and sky, a plethora of beaches and activities, it’s a must visit place!
Whats your favourite beach destination? I am going to sneak another one in (shhh) but Bali has some stunning beaches too and the locals are so friendly with kids.

Absolutely the best, all of these tourist destinations are the best. Beaches are the best place for holidays, we can eliminate our boredom here. My favorite place is the beach, looking at the sea is the most calming thing for me.
